Stony Kill Farm is located on Rt 9D in the Town of Wappingers Falls. The farm includes a 19th Century barn and farmhouse, an 18th Century Dutch stone house, a greenhouse, a pond, and community garden plots among other things. The farm is run through a collaborative effort between the DEC and the Stony Kill Foundation. The farm is home to cows, pigs, sheep, deer, rabbits and a wide variety of birds. There are also plenty of short easy trails to hike. The Verplank Memorial Garden is one of my favorite spots at the farm especially when the butterflies come by. It’s a lovely place to spend an hour in the evening after a long day or hangout with your family on the weekends. Also checkout the many festivals hosted by the Stony Kill Foundation throughout the year.
